Here are Dearne Valley Dyslexia, we endeavour to understand a child or young person’s individual needs, so that we can deliver bespoke intervention(s) that empowers and creates opportunities whilst delivering the best possible outcomes.
Specialist Teaching for Dyslexia
Dyslexia tends to be resistant to conventional teaching methods, but its effects can be mitigated by appropriate and specific intervention.
Here at Dearne Valley Dyslexia, Specialist Teaching for Dyslexia is usually undertaken following a Full Diagnostic Assessment. All of our Specialist Teaching of Dyslexia lessons are individually tailored to meet specific needs, using multi-sensory teaching and learning strategies. All lessons are 60 minutes long and undertaken each week.
All of our Specialist Dyslexia Tutors have Approved Teacher Status (ATS) accredited by the British Dyslexia Association, and have extensive experience in supporting children and young people in both Primary and Secondary Phases of Education.
Private Tuition for Literacy and Numeracy
Here at Dearne Valley Dyslexia, We have a number of Private Tutors who provide specialist support for Literacy and Numeracy. Initially there is a consultation session to obtain a current academic baseline and to set individualised targets. All lessons are 60 minutes long and undertaken each week.
All of our Private Tutors have extensive experience in supporting children and young people in both Primary and Secondary Phases of Education.
